Changing Alarm Settings
4-10 EarlyVue VS30 Instructions for Use
You can easily re-enable alarm audio by touching the Alarm Audio On/Off button in the
relevant measurement menu or in the relevant tab in the Alarm Settings menu.
Changing the Alarm Volume
WARNING
When changing the alarm volume, consider the ambient noise in your environment and ensure that
the volume is loud enough to be heard.
Never pause or turn off an auditory alarm or decrease the alarm volume if this action could
compromise patient safety.
Do not rely exclusively on the auditory alarm system for patient monitoring. The most reliable method
of patient monitoring requires correct operation of the monitor and close in-person observation and
assessment of the patient.
Note
Your system administrator can set a minimum alarm volume, which prevents you from
setting the volume below a specific level.
By default, the alarm volume is set to 4. You can change the volume for all alarms for the
current monitoring session. The alarm volume is reset to the default value each time you
admit a new patient, change the patient type, or change the monitoring mode.
To adjust the alarm volume for all alarms
1 Touch the Settings button or the Limits button in the toolbar.
Depending on the button you touched, one of the following opens:
- The General tab of the System menu.
- The General tab of the Alarm Settings menu.
2 Touch the Alarm Volume menu, then touch the alarm volume value you want to use.
The monitor sounds the tone once at the new volume and closes the menu.
3 Touch the Close button at upper right of the System menu or touch Done in the
Alarm Settings menu.
Hiding Alarm Limits in Numeric Panes
By default, each numeric pane displays that measurement’s upper and lower limits. If you
prefer not to display the limits, you can hide them for the current monitoring session.
To hide alarm limits in numeric panes
1 Touch the Limits button in the toolbar
The Alarm Settings menu opens, displaying the General tab.
