6-6 EarlyVue VS30 Instructions for Use

In the NBP numeric pane:

sourced from manual input.
- The measurement values appear in gray.

1 Touch the NBP numeric pane.
The NBP menu appears, displaying the current settings.
2 Touch the NBP Source menu and select one of the following:
- NBP — Measures NBP using a cuff connected to the VS30 monitor.
- Manual Input — Enables you to manually enter systolic and diastolic values, and
to override the automatically calculated mean arterial pressure (MAP) value if
necessary.
3 Touch Done.
Changing the Unit of Measure
To change the unit of measure for NBP
1 Touch the NBP numeric pane.
The NBP menu appears, displaying the current settings.
2 Touch the NBP Pressure Units menu and select mmHg or kPa.
3 Touch Done.
Configuring the Initial Inflation Pressure
The Initial Inflation Pressure setting specifies the maximum amount that the cuff will
inflate when you admit a new patient. In Interval or Continuous monitoring mode, the
cuff inflates to the Initial Inflation Pressure setting for the first NBP measurement, and
then the monitor adjusts the inflation value based on the patient’s systolic measurement.
The factory default value for Initial Inflation Pressure is based on the patient type:
Adult: 160 mmHg (21.3 kPa)
Pediatric: 140 mmHg (18.7 kPa)
Neonatal: 100 mmHg (13.3 kPa)
Initial inflation pressure is reset to factory default values when a new patient is admitted.
