EarlyVue VS30 Instructions for Use 6-17
Taking Automatic NBP Measurements Using NBP Intervals
You can configure and use up to five NBP interval programs based on your unit-specific
protocols. Your system administrator can preconfigure one or more of these programs,
but you can change them as needed. Your system administrator can also set one
program as a default. The default program is always selected when you first open the
Interval Settings menu or the Continuous Settings menu.
NBP Interval Program enables you to specify up to five sequential periods of automatic
NBP measurements. For each period, you select a duration (ranging from 5 minutes to 5
hours) and an interval. The available interval range is determined by the selected
duration.
To configure an NBP interval program
Caution
To prevent your NBP interval program settings from being disabled, it is critical that you admit your
patient before setting an NBP interval program. When you admit a new patient, any previously
configured NBP auto interval or interval program is canceled. Therefore, if you admit a patient after
setting the interval program, automatic NBP measurements will not be taken unless you set the
interval program again.
1 Open the Interval Settings menu or the Continuous Settings menu.
2 Touch the NBP Interval Program menu and select the program you want to
configure.
The NBP Interval Program menu appears.
3 If you want to rename the program, touch the Name field.
An on-screen keyboard appears.
4 On the keyboard, enter a name of no more than 10 characters, and touch OK.
The new name appears in the Name field.
Note
The program name also appears in the NBP numeric pane when the program is in
use. The name may be truncated in the NBP numeric pane, as indicated by an
ellipsis at the end of the name.
5 Under the heading Period 1, touch the Duration menu and select a preconfigured
duration between 15 minutes and 5 hours.
The duration appears in the Duration menu, and a corresponding default interval
appears in the Interval field.
6 If you want to change the interval, touch the Interval menu and select a
preconfigured interval. Options range from 1 minute to 120 minutes.
7 If you want to configure additional periods in the program, repeat steps 5 and 6 for
each period. To access periods 3, 4, and 5, you need to touch the right arrow at lower
right of menu,
8 When you are done configuring each period, touch OK.
You are returned to the settings menu. You can either start measurements right away,
or delay the start of measurements.
