Changing Temperature Settings
Changing the Temperature Source
The values displayed in the Temp numeric pane can be:
Sent to the VS30 monitor from a temperature probe connected to the monitor.
Manually entered, if you use a thermometer not connected to the monitor.
If you select Manual Input as the source, the following occurs:
A new field, named Input Temperature Measurement, appears on the Temperature
menu, enabling you to manually enter the temperature value.
The alarm limits fields disappear from the Temperature menu.
The Alarm Audio On/Off button disappears from the Temperature menu.
In the Temp numeric pane,
- The No Alarm icon is displayed to indicate that no visual or auditory alarm
indicators will be triggered for temperature.
- The phrase Manual Input is displayed to indicate that the temperature value is
sourced from manual input.
- The measurement value appears in gray.
To change the source for the temperature measurement
1 Touch the Temp numeric pane.
The Temperature menu appears, displaying the current settings.
2 Touch the Temp Source menu and select one of the following:
- Temp — Measures temperature using a probe connected to the VS30 monitor.
- Manual Input — Enables you to manually enter a temperature value.
3 Touch Done.
Changing the Unit of Measure
Notes:
Your biomedical engineer can configure the temporal thermometer to be used in
Celsius or Fahrenheit. To avoid confusion, make sure that the thermometer and the
monitor display the same unit of measurement.
Only the unit of measurement that is configured on the monitor is saved in the
patient record.
To change the unit of measure for temperature
1 Touch the Temp numeric pane.
The Temperature menu appears, displaying the current settings.
2 Touch the Temperature Units menu and select °C for Celsius or °F for Fahrenheit.
3 Touch Done.
