When changing settings, make sure you follow the policies of your healthcare facility.
To open the CO2 menu, touch the CO2 numeric pane. The CO2 menu opens, with the
current settings displayed in two tabs: General and Advanced.

Source
The values displayed in the CO2 numeric pane can be:
Sent to the VS30 monitor from a CO
2
line connected to the monitor.
Manually entered, if you use a CO
2
solution not connected to the VS30 monitor.
If you select Manual Input as the source, the following occurs:
New fields appear on the CO2 menu, enabling you to manually enter the etCO
2
,
imCO
2
,
and IPI values. You must enter all three values; if you do not, none of the
values appear on the main screen or in the patient record.
The following fields disappear from the CO2 menu:
- CO2 Hardware
- etCO
2
, imCO
2
,
and IPI alarm limit fields
The Alarm Audio On/Off buttons disappear from the CO2 menu.
In the CO2 numeric pane:
- The No Alarm icon is displayed to indicate that no visual or auditory alarm
indicators will be triggered for etCO
2
, imCO
2
,
or IPI.
- The phrase Manual Input is displayed to indicate that the etCO
2
, imCO
2
,
and IPI
values are sourced from manual input.
- The measurement value appears in gray.
If the respiration value is awRR, sourced from the etCO
2
line, the RR source displays
as awRR in the Resp numeric pane. If the respiration source is set to Auto, the value
might be replaced with a value from another available source.
To change the source for CO
2
measurements
1 Touch the CO2 numeric pane.
The CO2 menu appears, displaying the current settings on the General tab.
2 Touch the CO2 Source menu and select one of the following:
- CO2 — Measures carbon dioxide using a line connected to the VS30 monitor.
- Manual Input — Enables you to manually enter etCO
2
, imCO
2
,
and IPI values.
3 Touch Done.
