EarlyVue VS30 Instructions for Use 9-5
The CO2 Numeric Pane
Removing Exhaust Gases from the System
When monitoring CO
2
on patients who are receiving or have recently received
anesthetics, nitrous oxide, or high concentrations of oxygen, use a CO
2
exhaust tube to
remove the etCO
2
sample gas to a scavenging system that meets the requirements of
your facility. This prevents exposure of medical staff and bystanders to anesthetics and
other biocontamination. Attach the CO
2
exhaust tube to the CO
2
output connector on the
monitor.
WARNING
Before sampling CO
2
, check that the exhaust tube is securely connected to the VS30 monitor output
connector and the hospital’s scavenging system to prevent biocontamination.
The gas sample cannot be re-breathed based on the design of the module.
