Changing Pulse Settings
To change the source for the pulse rate measurement
1 Touch the Pulse numeric pane.
The Pulse menu appears, displaying the current settings.
2 Touch the Pulse Source menu and select one of the following:
- Auto — Searches for the first available pulse rate source: SpO
2
, then NBP.
- SpO2 — Derives pulse rate from the SpO
2
measurement.
- NBP — Derives pulse rate from the NBP measurement.
- Manual Input — Enables you to manually enter a pulse value.
3 Touch Done.
Adjusting the Pulse Rate Volume
By default, the pulse rate volume is set to 0, resulting in no pulse rate tone.
To increase or decrease the pulse rate volume
1 Touch the Pulse numeric pane.
The Pulse menu appears, displaying the current settings.
2 Touch the Pulse Tone Volume field.
A numeric keypad appears.
3 Enter a value from 0 to 8, then touch OK.
The new value appears in the Pulse Tone Volume field.
4 Touch Done.
Note
The frequency and pitch of the pulse rate tone (PRT) varies depending on the pulse rate
source. For pulse rate derived from SpO
2
, the frequency and pitch changes based on the
SpO
2
level. For NBP-derived pulse rate, there is no PRT because the NBP measurement
is static.
