Main Screen
The following sections provide additional information about each of the main screen
elements.
Main Screen
Element
Description
Information bar Provides the following:
• The Mode menu, from which you can select Spot Check,
Interval, or Continuous mode. Your system administrator can
also add an Alarms Off mode to the menu. See “Monitoring
Mode Menu” on page 2-18.
• Area to display user ID, if used. See “User ID” on page 2-19.
• Message panes for physiological and technical alarm
messages. See “Message Panes” on page 2-19.
• Audio control to pause and resume alarm audio. See “Audio
Control” on page 2-19.
• Acknowledge Alarm button to acknowledge and reset alarms.

The information bar remains visible even when you leave the main
screen (for example, to change system settings or view the
Records menu).

Patient bar Displays basic patient information and provides access to the
following:
• The New Patient Menu.
• The Edit Patient Menu.
• Expanded information about the current patient, including
trends.

Numeric panes Display vital signs measurement values and waveforms and
provide access to user-definable settings for each measurement.
The available numeric panes, and the waveforms that are
displayed by default, differ slightly when you switch from Spot
Check to Interval or Continuous monitoring mode, or if Early
Warning Scoring (EWS) is enabled on your monitor.

Toolbar Contains icons and buttons that provide access to patient records,
general settings, alarm settings, and other menus and functions.
