Changing System Settings

General Tab of the System Menu
On the General tab of the System menu, you can change the settings described in the
following table.
In addition to changing settings, you can touch the Shut Down button on the General tab
to place the monitor in Deep Sleep mode.
General Tab Field/
Menu/Button
Description
Monitor Name field Touch to open a keyboard and type a new name for the
monitor.
Default Patient Type
menu
Touch to change the default patient type. Each time you
start a new patient, the default patient type is selected
and the alarm settings are restored to the default values
for the specified patient type.
Available patient types are:
Adult
Pediatric
Neonatal
Brightness Level menu Touch to select a display screen brightness level from 1 to
7. The higher the number, the brighter the display.
Date Format menu Touch to change the date format. Available formats are:
yyyy/mm/dd
mm/dd/yyyy
dd/mm/yyyy
Height Units menu Touch to change height units to inch or cm.
Weight Units menu Touch to change weight units to lb or kg.
Configuration button Touch to display your monitor’s hardware and software
configuration.
Recorder Settings
button
Touch to open the Recorder Settings menu, where you
can adjust settings that affect how the recorder prints
waveforms.
For details, see “Managing Printed Waveforms” on
page 13-6.
Lock Touch Screen
button
Touch to lock the touch screen. To release the lock, press
the On/Standby button.
Alarm Volume menu Touch to change the volume of the alarm tone for all
alarms. For details, see “Changing the Alarm Volume” on
page 4-10.
