Creating a Patient Record
3-24 EarlyVue VS30 Instructions for Use
Measurements continue to be automatically saved to the patient record for the
programmed duration (if you used an NBP interval program), or until you do one of the
following:
• Set the NBP Auto Interval or NBP Interval Program to Off in the Interval Settings
menu.
• Switch to another monitoring mode.
• Discharge the patient or admit a new patient.
Completing a Patient Record in Continuous Monitoring Mode
WARNING
To ensure patient safety, always check that you are using the correct patient ID before you begin
measuring and saving vital signs.
Caution
To prevent your NBP interval settings from being disabled, it is critical that you admit your patient
before setting an NBP auto interval or interval program. When you admit a new patient, any
previously configured NBP auto interval or interval program is reset to defaults (as configured by
your system administrator). Therefore, if you admit a patient after setting the interval, automatic NBP
measurements will not be taken unless you set the interval again.
Note
Your system administrator can enable or disable any monitoring mode except Spot
Check. The Mode menu displays only the modes that are enabled. Spot Check is always
available.
Use Continuous monitoring mode to continuously monitor a single patient. In Continuous
monitoring mode, you can select a Save Measurements to Record interval, ranging from
1 minute to 120 minutes. With the exception of NBP, all available measurements—such as
SpO
2
, CO
2
, pulse, and respiration—are automatically saved to the patient record at the
specified interval.
In Continuous monitoring mode, you can also set an NBP Auto Interval or NBP Interval
Program, as described in “Completing a Patient Record in Interval Monitoring Mode” on
page 3-21. The NBP measurements are saved to the record according to the NBP Auto
Interval setting; they are not saved at the Save Measurements to Record interval. All
other measurements are saved according to the Save Measurements to Record interval.
If you do not set an NBP Auto Interval in Continuous monitoring mode, automatic NBP
measurements are neither initiated nor saved; however, you can take manual NBP
measurements and touch Save Now to save NBP measurements to the record at any
time.
