EarlyVue VS30 Instructions for Use 3-27
Including Observations and Assessments in a Patient Record
Attended and Unattended Patient Records
Records are categorized as attended or unattended.
Attended records are saved by the direct action of a clinician. Attended records
include:
- Records saved by touching Save in Spot Check monitoring mode.
- Records saved at the bedside by touching Save Now in Interval or Continuous
mode.
- The record of a currently admitted patient that is saved automatically when the
clinician uses a barcode scanner to admit a new patient. See “Using a Barcode
Scanner to Open the New Patient Menu” on page 3-4.
Unattended records are saved automatically at preconfigured intervals when a
patient is monitored using Interval or Continuous monitoring mode.
Patient Record Export
Your monitor may be configured to export patient records. If record validation is not
required before export, records are exported as follows:
Attended records are exported as soon as they are saved.
Unattended records are exported within 30 seconds of being saved, because the
monitor checks every 30 seconds for any record that is ready to be exported. If
validation is required before export, the record is exported as soon as you touch
Validate.
Note
When an attended record is exported, the word Transmitted appears briefly on a green
background in the technical message pane in the information bar.
See “Validating Patient Records before Export” on page 3-38 for information about
record validation.
Including Observations and Assessments in a Patient Record
If your system administrator has enabled the QuickCapture feature on your monitor, you
can enter observations and assessments for the current patient. Observations and
assessments are included when you export the patient record.
Touching the Observations and Assessments/Pain Index pane on the main screen
opens the Observations and Assessments menu, where you can enter your observations
and assessments. See “The Observations and Assessments Menu” on page 3-29.
