Including Observations and Assessments in a Patient Record
3-28 EarlyVue VS30 Instructions for Use
About QuickCapture Configurations
Your system administrator can enable the default QuickCapture configuration or a
custom QuickCapture configuration. The QuickCapture configuration determines the
following:
Title of the Observations and Assessments/Pain Index pane on the main screen
Content displayed in the Observations and Assessments/Pain Index pane
Features available in Observations and Assessments menu
The following table summarizes the effects of the QuickCapture configuration on the
pane title, pane content, and Observations and Assessments features.
When QuickCapture is enabled, the following indications appear on the main screen:
If the default QuickCapture configuration is enabled, the Observations and
Assessments pane is labeled Pain Index and displays the current numeric pain index
value (or displays
-- if no value has been entered).
If a custom QuickCapture configuration is enabled, the Observations and
Assessments pane indicates whether you have provided all required parameters. If
vital signs measurements are required by the custom QuickCapture configuration,
and the QuickAlerts feature is not enabled, the required measurements are indicated
by a yellow asterisk in each relevant numeric pane on the main screen.
If the QuickAlerts feature is enabled in addition to QuickCapture:
- An EWS (Early Warning Scoring) pane appears on the main screen. It indicates
whether you have provided all required EWS data. The QuickAlerts configuration
may require certain QuickCapture data to be provided.
- A colored circle in a numeric pane indicates the EWS risk band for that
measurement. If EWS sub-scores are configured to display, a number inside the
colored circle indicates the EWS sub-score.
- Vital signs measurements that are required by the QuickAlerts protocol are
indicated by a yellow asterisk in each relevant numeric pane.
See Chapter 12, “Early Warning Scoring and QuickCheck Workflows,” for more
information.
