In step 3, set the parameters for the SHDSL line. Enter
the following values for the example on Page 2.
Length of the 2-wire cable: 5000 meters
–Diameter: 0.5mm
The software calculates an expected data rate of 534 kbps.
This value is high enough for I/O mapping. Usually, much
lower data rates are required.
There are two different modes to set the SHDSL rate:
–Automatic
–Manual
Select automatic mode.

The calculated data rate only is a guide value. It
may differ considerably in practice. The following
factors may influence the data rate:
Twisting of the cables
State of the cables
–Insulation
Contact resistance
External errors
