What to do if my Phoenix Gold Amplifier has no power?
    • E
      Elizabeth MacdonaldAug 8, 2025
If your Phoenix Gold Amplifier has no power, use a DMM (volt meter) to check the voltage at the amplifier's B+ and REM (with the head unit on). The voltage should be between 12.2V and 14.6V when using the amplifier's ground lead. Also, check the fuse at both the amplifier and the battery. Use a meter to verify the connection from one end of the fuse to the other, as breaks may not always be visible. If the fuse is blown, inspect the power wire and the amplifier for a short. If the short is within the amplifier itself, consult your Phoenix Gold dealer. If no short is found, replace the fuse.

    • N
      nicholas16Aug 13, 2025
If your Phoenix Gold Amplifier has power but no sound, first turn off the amplifier. Check all input and output signal cables and power connections. Inspect the speakers for shorts using a DMM (volt meter) or by connecting them to an alternate audio source. Once you've verified everything is correctly connected, turn the amplifier back on.

Why does my Phoenix Gold S1000.1 Amplifier frequently shutdown with automatic recovery?
    • S
      stephanie31Aug 17, 2025
Frequent shutdowns with automatic recovery often occur due to high operating temperatures. Ensure that you are not running a lower impedance than recommended. Check for damaged speakers or passive crossover systems. If the amplifier continues to shut down during normal operation at elevated output power levels, consider providing additional cooling, installing a higher-power amplifier, or reducing the amplifier's output level.

What to do if my Phoenix Gold Amplifier has power but no sound and the PROTECT LED is lit?
    • J
      Jessica HarrisAug 21, 2025
If your Phoenix Gold Amplifier has power but no sound and the PROTECT LED is lit, try cycling the power at the amplifier's REM terminal to restore operation. If over-current shutdown occurs, check for shorted speaker wiring, damaged speakers, or crossover systems.

      bennettlisaAug 26, 2025
If your Phoenix Gold Amplifier has very low output, check your head unit’s fader control and the amplifier’s input sensitivity level. Also, ensure that the HP (high-pass) frequency control is not set too high and the LP (low-pass) frequency control is not set too low simultaneously.

What causes 'Motor Boating' in my Phoenix Gold S1000.1?
    • R
      Robert WintersSep 3, 2025
If your Phoenix Gold Amplifier exhibits 'Motor Boating,' where the power indicator repeatedly goes off when the audio system is on, check the amplifier’s connection to the battery. Verify the battery voltage; if it's low, recharge or replace the battery. Also, inspect all ground connections.
