1.8 Minimum safety distances
With reference to the above diagram, the minimum safe distances
from heat sensitive or inflammable materials, such as load bearing
and other walls are:
A 20 cm. from the wall behind the stove
B 20 cm. from the side wall
C 100cm. in the radiating area
In the case of flooring that is heat sensitive or inflammable the floor
should be protected (using for example sheets of steel plate,
marble or tiles). The minimum distances are:
D 50 cm.
E 30 cm. (measured from the internal corner of the door opening)
Keep any combustible product well away from the stove
when it is lit (minimum distance from the heat radiation
area), for example: wooden furniture, curtains, carpets,
combustible liquids, etc.
1.9 Connection to the flue Fig. 17÷26
Two elbows at the most may be used in connecting the stove to the
flue, with a change in direction of no less than 90° and the length
of the horizontal section of flue pipe not exceeding 2 m. Figures 17-
18-19.
The pipe assembly must be as short as possible, without
constrictions and made in material resistant to corrosion by
combustion gases and to temperatures of 550-600° C.
It is advisable to use Gruppo Piazzetta S.p.A. pipes and elbows for
connection to the flue, since the appliance flue collar is sized for
insertion of these. Furthermore, the elbows have an inspection
door allowing control, cleaning and maintenance of the system.
Other pipes may also be applied after adaptation and checking that
the coupling is compatible, taking into account that the pipes and
elbows must be made in compliance with current regulations. In
this case, however, Gruppo Piazzetta S.p.A. only guarantees
trouble-free operation for its own products used in accordance
with instructions.
If elbows are used, if the flue pipe assembly does not rise up
straight, attention must be paid to checking that the connection can
withstand the overhead weight and does not require suitable
supporting systems.
