Trigeminal neuralgia
Programme 1
The trigeminal neuralgia occurs with very
unpleasant pain. Mostly only one of the
trigeminal branches is aected. One electrode is
placed directly near the ear, the other electrode –
depending on the aected side – below the eye,
above the eye, or on the cheek bone, as shown in
picture 16. If already the placing of the electrodes
causes discomfort and pain, usually the not aected side is treated in the same
way as shown in picture 16. The TENS treatment can often help to relieve pain with
treatment on the not aected body side.
Pain after a zoster infection
(post-zoster neuralgia)
Programme 1
After a zoster infection may be overcome, still
discomfort and pain can be remaining reaction on
the body, especially felt on the face. With the help
of a high frequency TENS treatment, a significant
pain relief can be achieved. One electrode is
placed onto the spine next to the aected skin
area, and the other one is placed onto the radiating pain area on the stomach side,
as shown in picture 17. If already the placing of the electrodes causes discomfort
and pain, usually the not aected side is treated in the same way as shown in the
picture. The TENS treatment can often help to relieve pain with treatment on the
not aected body side.
Improvement for blood circulation
Programme 3
This use of stimulating current at the hand is
aecting the whole body; the placing of the
electrodes is done as shown in picture 18. The
stimulation shall be performed for at least 20
minutes. A therapy of up to 60 minutes is possible
without any dangers.
