Also, inspect the fan to ensure it's working properly and the air intake isn't blocked. Check the auger motor to confirm it is operating, and ensure there is no blockage in the auger tube. Ensure that the fuel level is sufficient, and replenish if low. Poor quality hardwood pellets or pellets that are too long can cause obstructions in the feed system. After doing all of these steps, start the grill, set the temperature to SMOKE and wait for 10 minutes. Check that the flame produced is bright and vibrant.

Additionally, the igniter could have failed. Remove cooking components, turn the unit on in SMOKE mode, and check if the igniter is working by feeling for heat above the burn pot and visually confirming it protrudes approximately 13mm / 0.5 inches into the burn pot.
