Do you have a question about the PM MPC-5V100 and is the answer not in the manual?

Overview

The MPC-5V100 is a pharmacy refrigerator designed for the storage of temperature-sensitive items in various medical and scientific settings. It functions as a medical refrigerator, maintaining a constant temperature for items such as those found in hospitals, epidemic prevention stations, blood banks, scientific research institutions, colleges and universities, biological pharmacies, genetic engineering, and entrepreneurial ventures. The device is specifically designed for storage purposes and is not intended for direct contact with patients, use with other materials, or for measurement and analysis. It is also not sterilized and is not explosion-proof. The refrigerator is limited to keeping the temperature used and is not flash freeze equipment.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Model: MPC-5V100
  • Temperature Range: 2~8℃
  • Volume: 100L
  • Power Supply: 220V, 50Hz
  • Refrigerant: R600a
  • Dimension: 505510875 mm

Usage Features:

The refrigerator features a control panel with a digital display screen that shows the actual internal temperature. Key functions on the control panel include:

  1. High temperature alarm indicator: Alerts users to elevated internal temperatures.
  2. Door open indicator: Indicates when the door is not properly closed.
  3. Defrost indicator: Shows when the defrost cycle is active.
  4. Mute: Silences the alarm buzzer.
  5. Setting: Used to adjust temperature parameters.
  6. Up-regulation: Increases numerical values during setting.
  7. Down-regulation: Decreases numerical values during setting.

To adjust the setting temperature, users can press the "Set" key for 3 seconds, then use the "Up-regulation" or "Down-regulation" keys to change the value, and finally press "Set" again for 3 seconds to save. The general high and low temperature alarm values are within the set temperature range of 2~10 °C.

The device has a self-closing door mechanism. It is crucial to avoid holding the door or the lining port as a stressed member. The refrigerator should be placed on a fixed, horizontal, and incombustible surface capable of bearing its weight. It should be positioned away from direct sunlight and heat sources, with an environmental temperature not exceeding 32°C. A space of at least 30cm is required around the refrigerator for proper ventilation and heat dissipation. The operating environment should not be below 0°C, nor should it be excessively humid or prone to splashing water. The ambient environment must be free of corrosive, flammable, explosive gases, liquids, or dust, and should be well-ventilated.

For first use, after unpacking and placement, it is recommended to clean the interior with warm water and a neutral detergent, followed by clean water and a dry cloth (electrical systems should only be wiped with a dry cloth). The temperature controller should be set to 5°C, and the unit should run empty for about 12 hours before storing goods. This allows the compressor oil to return and the refrigerating system to stabilize. When loading goods for the first time, it is advised to do so in batches to allow the internal temperature to reach the set point after each addition, preventing prolonged temperature drops that could damage stored items. To conserve energy, users should minimize door-opening frequency and duration.

The refrigerator is equipped with a glass door heating switch to prevent condensation. In case of machine fault or power failure, the internal temperature will rise. If repairs cannot be made quickly, stored goods should be transferred to an alternative suitable storage location to prevent damage.

Safety Precautions:

  • Always use protective devices (clothes, gloves, goggles) when handling the product.
  • Operate strictly according to product instructions and maintain good health habits.
  • The medical refrigerator requires a 220V/50Hz AC power supply. If the service voltage is outside the 187V-242V range, an automatic voltage regulator is necessary.
  • The power supply must include a lower voltage air circuit breaker and a leakage protection device.
  • A dedicated, reliably grounded independent socket is required. The power line should not be lengthened randomly; if necessary, use a copper core conductor larger than 2.5mm², with the in-wall connection being above 4mm².
  • Flammable, explosive, corrosive, acidic, or alkaline goods are strictly prohibited from storage.
  • Keys should be kept away from children to prevent accidents. The neutral line (N end) of the socket must not be connected to the ground lead (E end) to avoid electric shock.
  • The power line must not be bundled, pressed under weight, or placed near heat sources like the compressor.
  • Be aware of potential hand pinching in the door gap when opening/closing.
  • Electric shock hazards may exist in electrical components and wiring terminals in the engine room.
  • The refrigerator uses flammable refrigerant; keep it away from fire.
  • The product fan may cause injury when reaching inside.
  • Do not allow children to play with the medical freezer.
  • Do not place heavy objects on the refrigerator door or medical cap to prevent deformation.

Error Display:

  • E0: Indicates faults with the refrigerator temperature display sensor (short circuit, open circuit, malfunction, or incorrect connection).
  • E1: Indicates faults with the refrigerator temperature control sensor (short circuit, open circuit, malfunction, or incorrect connection). In both cases, the buzzer will alarm, and the display screen will show the corresponding error code.
  • Pd: Appears during power failure when the back-up source is used for display. If the back-up source has been charged for over 10 hours, "Pd" will alternate with the current internal temperature and alarm display for 30 seconds, then stop for cycle operation. After 8 hours, the nixie tube stops displaying, but the power failure alarm light will twinkle continuously until the back-up source is depleted.

Maintenance Features:

Routine maintenance requires cutting off power before any repairs or maintenance to prevent electric shock or injury. Wet gloves should be dried to protect hands from sharp edges.

Cleaning:

  • The medical refrigerator should be cleaned monthly to maintain its appearance.
  • Use a dry cloth for light dust. For heavier dirt, use a neutral detergent, followed by a clean, wet cloth to wipe off detergent, and then dry.
  • Do not pour water directly onto the housing or inside the preserve room to avoid damaging electrical insulation.
  • During rainy seasons, condensation on the glass door should be wiped dry with a dry cloth.

Defrosting:

  • The MPC-5V100 is an air-cooling, frost-less refrigerator and does not require manual defrosting.
  • In high humidity environments, condensation may appear on the buccal frame, which is normal and should be wiped dry.

Care and Maintenance:

  • Avoid placing heavy objects on the door or header to prevent deformation.
  • Regular cleaning and maintenance are recommended.
  • Use a warm, wet, soft cloth for inner and outer surfaces. For serious dirt, use neutral detergent for washing tableware, then wipe with a clean soft cloth to remove water spots.
  • Once started, it is best to keep the refrigerator running continuously.
  • Do not sprinkle water directly on the refrigerator to avoid performance reduction and metal rust.
  • Do not clean with hot water, corrosive detergents, organic solvents, scrubbing brushes, or wire brushes.

Troubleshooting:

The manual provides a table for self-inspection and exclusion of common faults:

  • Medical refrigerator does not work: Check if the power socket has electricity, is plugged in/loosened, if the power fuse is disconnected, or if the supply voltage is too low/high.
  • Compressor breaks down: Check if the temperature setting is correct.
  • Temperature goes on decreasing after reaching to the set value: Check if the temperature setting is correct.
  • Temperature cannot reach the set value: Check if the fan is running, if the door is closed tightly/opened too frequently, if too many goods are stored at once, if the air channel is blocked, or if the environment temperature is too high.
  • Too much noise: Check if the refrigerator body is placed on flat ground, if it touches the wall, or if the incubator immediately enters operating state after being started.

If issues persist or cannot be diagnosed, users are advised to contact the local or appointed service center, providing their name, address, phone number, refrigerator type, purchase time, and fault description.
