      It's normal for some pressure drop to occur when an accessory is used with your Porter-Cable air compressor. However, if there's an excessive amount of pressure drop, adjust the regulator following the instructions on page 7. Note that you should adjust the regulated pressure under flow conditions, meaning while the accessory is being used.

      Several factors can prevent the motor from running or restarting. The motor overload protection switch might have tripped, or the tank pressure might exceed the pressure switch's cut-in pressure. Other potential causes include incorrect gauge wire or extension cord length, a stuck check valve, loose electrical connections, a defective motor or starting capacitor, paint spray on internal motor parts, a blown fuse or tripped circuit breaker, or the pressure release valve not unloading head pressure. To troubleshoot: * Allow the motor to cool down for the overload switch to reset automatically. * Ensure the tank pressure drops below the cut-in pressure. * Verify the gauge wire and cord length are correct. * Clean or replace the check valve. * Inspect wiring connections. * If nece...
