Why is the auger on my Power smart PSSAM24BS not rotating or blowing snow effectively?
    • J
      Jessica CoxAug 18, 2025
If the auger on your Power smart Snow Blower isn't rotating when engaged, or if you're experiencing poor snow blowing performance, start by cleaning the chute and inside the auger housing. Check and replace any broken auger shear pins. Remove any foreign objects obstructing the auger or impeller. Inspect the auger belt for looseness, slippage, wear, or damage and replace if necessary. Also, check the auger belt tension cable and repair, adjust, or replace it if needed. Damaged or bent auger blades should be replaced. Examine the auger gearbox for mechanical damage or binding, repairing or replacing parts and lubricating as necessary. Replace a damaged impeller or shear pins. Finally, ensure you're not moving too fast, allowing the engine to maintain speed.

What causes my Power smart PSSAM24BS Snow Blower engine to run rough, stall, or lose power?
    • R
      Raymond OrozcoAug 21, 2025
If your Power smart Snow Blower engine runs erratically, stalls, or seems low on power, start by emptying and cleaning the fuel tank and carburetor, then refill with fresh gasoline, as old fuel may be the cause. Check for and clear any blockages in the fuel system or line. The carburetor may need cleaning. Ensure the spark plug wire is securely connected. Inspect the spark plug, cleaning, adjusting the gap, or replacing it if faulty. If the engine oil is overfilled, drain it to the correct level; it should not be above the top two threads of the LOWER fill plug. Conversely, if the oil level is low or empty, add oil.

Why does the auger belt keep breaking on my Power smart PSSAM24BS?
    • K
      kurt68Aug 25, 2025
If the auger belt on your Power smart Snow Blower is broken or repeatedly fails, first check and replace the auger tension pulley arm return spring if it's broken or missing. Ensure the auger tension pulley arm isn't stuck or binding, repairing or replacing it as necessary. Also, check for misalignment or damage to the auger tension pulley arm or pulley, repairing, replacing, or aligning them as needed. Clean any foreign material like oil, grease, or dirt from the pulleys and belt, and replace the belt if necessary. Replace or align any misaligned, loose, damaged, or bent auger pulleys. Ensure you are using the correct size and type of auger belt. Finally, adjust the belt guide pin to within 1/8 to 3/16 inches from the pulley to keep the belt in place when disengaged.

Why does my Power smart PSSAM24BS have no drive movement?
    • G
      gjohnsAug 28, 2025
If your Power smart Snow Blower has no forward or reverse drive movement when the drive handle is engaged, check the drive belt tension pulley for damage or incorrect tension and repair or replace as needed. Replace the drive belt if necessary. If the friction drive wheel is worn or damaged, replace it. If the friction drive wheel is wet or slipping, allow the snow blower to dry and warm up, or adjust the drive cable tension.

Why is the drive speed control on my Power smart PSSAM24BS Snow Blower stuck?
    • L
      Leslie MonroeAug 31, 2025
If the drive speed control on your Power smart Snow Blower is stuck in gear or won’t change gears, inspect the speed control lever and cables for damage, looseness, or missing parts, and repair or replace them as needed. Make sure the pivot stud spring tension is correct, and adjust the pivot nut spring tension if necessary. Also, check the speed control cables for looseness, damage, or binding, and repair, adjust, or replace them as needed.

What to do if drive engaged when drive control handle released on Power smart PSSAM24BS Snow Blower?
    • J
      Jennifer GrahamSep 3, 2025
If the drive on your Power smart Snow Blower remains engaged when the drive control handle is released, it could be due to a binding drive control cable, which needs repair or replacement. What to do if my Power smart Snow Blower engine fails to start, but it cranks?
    • B
      Brandon WarrenNov 14, 2025
If your Power smart Snow Blower engine fails to start but cranks over, several issues could be the cause. First, ensure the spark plug wire is connected. A faulty spark plug can also prevent starting, so clean, adjust the gap, or replace it. If the engine is flooded with fuel, discontinue using the choke or primer and clean or replace the spark plug. Make sure the safety key is fully inserted into the ignition switch. Ensure the choke is in the START position, then slowly move it to the RUN position as the engine stabilizes. If it still doesn't start, try half choke. Old or stale fuel will not ignite, so empty and clean the fuel tank and carburetor and refill with fresh gasoline. A blocked fuel system or line should be cleaned. Lastly, ensure the extension cord is properly attached to the ...
