Why does my Powermate Vx run slowly?
    • A
      anna46Jul 29, 2025
Your Powermate Saw might be running slowly due to several reasons. It could be due to grit or gumming up inside the tool. In this case, clean the air motor inside the tool with WD-40®. Also, ensure that there is enough oil in the tool by adding 4-6 drops of air tool oil into the air inlet. Check that the air pressure is adequate by adjusting the compressor regulator to 90 PSI. Finally, inspect the air hose for leaks and tighten the hose fittings with Teflon® tape if any leaks are found. Avoid excessive couplings between hoses, as pressure drops may occur.

If your Powermate Saw won't run, there are a few potential causes. First, the air motor inside the tool may need cleaning with WD-40® due to grit or gumming. Another possibility is that the tool needs oil; add 4-6 drops of air tool oil into the air inlet. Verify that the compressor regulator is set to 90 PSI to ensure adequate air pressure. Check for air hose leaks and tighten any leaking fittings with Teflon® tape. Additionally, minimize the use of excessive couplings between hoses to prevent pressure drops.
