Why Powersmart Snow Blower engine fails to start when cranking over?
    • M
      Mrs. Christina BurgessAug 16, 2025
The engine may fail to start due to several reasons: the spark plug wire might be disconnected (connect it to the spark plug); the spark plug could be faulty (clean, adjust the gap, or replace it); the engine might be flooded with fuel (discontinue choke or primer use, clean or replace the spark plug); the safety key may not be inserted (insert it fully); the choke might not be in the START position (move it to START, then RUN); the engine might not be primed (prime it); the fuel might be old (empty and refill with fresh gasoline); the fuel system could be blocked (clean it); the fuel shut-off valve might be OFF (turn it ON); or the extension cord isn't attached properly (re-insert it).

What to do if Powersmart DB7624E auger is not rotating or blowing snow?
    • A
      Antonio BensonAug 19, 2025
If the auger isn't rotating or the snow blower's performance is poor, the issue might be a clogged chute (clean it), broken shear pins (replace them), a foreign object in the auger or impeller (remove it), a loose or damaged auger belt (replace it), a damaged or binding auger belt tension cable (repair, adjust, or replace it), damaged or bent auger blades (replace them), mechanical damage to the auger gearbox (check and repair or replace parts, lubricating as necessary), a damaged impeller (replace it), the impeller not connected to the shaft or impeller shear pins are broken (replace shear pins or impeller), or forward speed is too fast (allow engine to maintain its speed).

What to do if Powersmart DB7624E engine runs erratic or stalls?
    • J
      Justin CamposAug 22, 2025
If your snow blower engine runs erratically, stalls, or seems low on power, it could be due to incorrect or old fuel (empty and refill with fresh gasoline), a blocked fuel system (clean it), a carburetor in need of cleaning (clean it), a loose spark plug wire (connect and tighten it), a faulty spark plug (clean, adjust, or replace it), overfilled engine oil (drain to the proper level), or low engine oil (add oil).

What to do if Powersmart DB7624E Snow Blower drive speed control is stuck?
    • R
      Robert MurphyAug 26, 2025
If the drive speed control is stuck in gear or won’t change gears, the speed control lever might be loose or damaged (check and repair or replace parts as needed, ensure pivot stud spring tension is correct, adjust pivot nut spring tension as needed), or the speed control cables could be loose, damaged, or binding (repair, adjust, or replace as necessary).

Why Powersmart DB7624E Snow Blower auger belt keeps breaking?
    • D
      Donald FordAug 28, 2025
If the auger belt is broken or repeatedly fails, it could be due to a broken or missing auger tension pulley arm return spring (replace it), a stuck or binding auger tension pulley arm (repair or replace it), a misaligned or damaged auger tension pulley arm or pulley (repair, replace, or align it), foreign material on the pulleys and belt (clean them, replace the belt if necessary), misaligned, loose, damaged, or bent auger pulleys (replace or align them), an incorrect or damaged auger belt (replace with the correct size and type), or an unadjusted auger belt guide pin (adjust it to within 1/8 to 3/16 in. from the pulley).

What to do if Powersmart Snow Blower has no forward or reverse movement?
    • M
      Melissa Lee DDSAug 31, 2025
If there's no forward or reverse drive movement when the drive handle is engaged, the drive belt might be loose or damaged (check and repair or replace as necessary), the friction drive wheel could be worn or damaged (replace it), the friction drive wheel might be wet or slipping (allow the snow blower to dry or warm up, or adjust the drive cable tension), or the wheel to axle pins are broken or missing (replace them).

How to troubleshoot Powersmart DB7624E electric starter not cranking?
    • A
      Aaron DennisSep 6, 2025
If the engine electric starter will not crank the engine, check if there is no power from the power supply or a tripped breaker (check the power supply extension cord is attached to), the extension cord wire gauge is too small or the cord is too long (use proper rated and length extension cord), or the CHOKE is in the ON or partial ON position (move CHOKE lever to RUN).
