Reduce duct length and elbows if needed, and ensure all joints are sealed and taped. Verify the duct doesn't open against the wind. For heavy cooking, use the high-speed setting. Close nearby windows to prevent air gusts. To improve performance, slightly open a window on the opposite side of the house from where the hood vents.
