3.1 Choose Input Wire and Connectors
We recommends using pre-built or professionally wired, balanced line (two conductor plus shield), 22-24
gauge cables and connectors. Depending upon which amplifier input you choose, you should use either
3-pin male XLR connectors, TRS phone connectors, or terminal forks at the amplifier inputs. Unbalanced line
may also be used but may result in noise over long cable runs. Note: amplifier input connectors not used for
audio signal input may be used for daisy-chaining of the audio signal to other components.
3.2 Choose Output Wire and Connectors
We recommends using pre-built or professionally wired, highquality, two or four conductor, heavy gauge
speaker wire and connectors. You may use two 4-pole Speakon connectors or banana plugs, spade lugs, to
prevent the possibility of short-circuits, wrap or otherwise insulate exposed loudspeaker cable connectors.
Using the guidelines below, select the appropriate size of wire based on the distance from amplifier to speaker.

3.3 DIN connector ( balanced) for MIC 1 input

• Pin 4: Priority control.

3.4 1/4” mono Jack connector ( unbalanced) for MIC 2 input
• Tip: Signal.
• Sleeve: Screen.
3.5 RCA connector for AUX/CD inputs
AM860 provides auxiliary inputs with RCA connectors for other signal sources as Radio Tuner, CD or cassette
player. By using the switch located on the rear of the amplifier, it is possible to enable the AUX or CD input.

3.6 Manual priority terminals
These terminal provides to muting of the Mic2 and Aux/CD input during paging.
3.7 Loudspeaker connection
AM860 provides different types of loudspeaker output: line 100V, line 70V and low impedance. It is possible
only to use one of these, any attempt to use more outputs may damage the amplifier.
