This document describes the PRO-ELEC Model PEL01201 Local Air Conditioner, providing details on its function, technical specifications, usage, and maintenance.
Function Description
The PRO-ELEC PEL01201 is a portable air conditioner designed for indoor use. Its primary functions include cooling, dehumidifying, and fan-only operation. The unit is equipped with a control panel and a remote control for easy operation. It features an internal water tank for collecting condensate during cooling, which needs periodic emptying. The appliance is designed to be installed in a room with a floor area larger than 12 m² and requires proper ventilation through an exhaust hose connected to a window.

Usage Features
The air conditioner offers several operating modes and controls:
- Control Panel and Remote Control: Both allow control over the unit's functions.
- POWER Button: Turns the unit on or off. Upon turning on, it defaults to cooling mode with low fan speed.
- MODE Button: Selects between cooling, dehumidifying, and fan modes.
- Cooling Mode: Default temperature is 22°C with low fan speed. Temperature can be adjusted from 16°C to 31°C using UP/DOWN buttons.
- Fan Mode: Selects high or low fan speed. Temperature and sleep functions are not available in this mode.
- Dehumidifying Mode: The fan speed is low, and the sleep function cannot be set.
- FAN Button: Selects high or low fan speed.
- UP/DOWN Buttons: Adjust temperature in cooling mode (16°C to 31°C).
- SLEEP Mode: In cooling mode, activates sleep function. The temperature setting increases by 1°C after the first hour and another 1°C after the second hour, then remains constant. Not available in dehumidifying or fan mode.
- TIMER Function: Sets an on/off delay timer from 1 to 24 hours in either power-on or standby mode.
- SWING Function: Controls the continuous left and right swing of the louvre. Pressing the button again stops the movement.
- Compressor Protection: A three-minute delay occurs after powering on or restarting before the compressor operates, extending its lifespan.
- Water Drainage: The internal water tank collects condensate. When full, the unit enters standby mode, and the compressor stops. The tank must be emptied by removing the plug cap and drainage plug at the rear of the unit.
Maintenance Features
Regular maintenance is crucial for efficient and safe operation:
- Safety First: Always power off and unplug the air conditioner before any maintenance or repair activities to avoid electric shock.
- Cleaning the Exterior: Clean the outside with a damp (not wet) cloth and dry thoroughly. Avoid using chemical solvents, abrasives, or harsh detergents, as these can damage the surface.
- Filter Cleaning: The filters should be cleaned every two weeks to maintain efficiency.
- Remove the air filters from the rear of the unit.
- Lightly vacuum the filters to remove dust.
- For exceptionally dirty filters, wash them in warm water with a mild detergent and allow them to dry completely before reinstallation.
- Do not operate the air conditioner without the filters.
- Seasonal Cleaning and Storage (for long periods of non-use):
- Unplug the unit.
- Remove the drainage plug and empty the internal water tank.
- Plug the unit back in, power on, select fan mode, and run for two hours to dry out the interior.
- Turn off and unplug the unit again.
- Clean and dry the filters, then reinstall them.
- Remove batteries from the remote control.
- Store the air conditioner in its original carton in a cool, dry place.
- For long-term storage, ensure the drainage pipe is fully dry to prevent mildew.
- Cover the appliance with a plastic bag and store it out of reach of children, with dust control measures.
- Flammable Refrigerant (R290): The appliance uses R290, which is flammable.
- Store the appliance in a room without continuously operating ignition sources (open flames, gas appliances, electric heaters).
- Do not pierce or burn the appliance.
- Be aware that refrigerants may not have an odor.
- The appliance must be installed, operated, and stored in a room with a floor area larger than 12 m².
- Keep ventilation openings clear of obstruction.
- Servicing involving the refrigerant circuit must only be performed by industry-accredited personnel competent in handling flammable refrigerants.
- Maintenance and repair requiring skilled personnel must be supervised by someone competent in using flammable refrigerants.
- All safety-related procedures must be carried out by competent persons.
