Operating instructions for BT 105 A
Please read carefully and keep in a safe place before putting into operation!
Functional description
With this battery tester you can check the capacity/voltage of the most common types of batteries
(button cells, Mignon, Baby, Mono, 9-volt batteries and photo batteries) such as standard zinc-carbon
batteries, alkaline, mercury, silver oxide and lithium batteries. Depending on the switch position, the
battery to be tested is loaded by a resistance corresponding to the operating data. The measurement
result can be read on a clear pointer instrument.
Suitable for the following batteries and rechargeable batteries
All 1.5 V round cells (AAA, AA, C, D, N)
4,5 / 6 / 9 / 12 and 22,5 Volt Batteries
1.5 Volt button cells up to 20 mm diameter
1,5 / 3 and 6 V Photo batteries
3 V Lithium cells
Intended use
The BT 105 A battery tester is used to check/test batteries up to a nominal voltage of 22.5 volts. Other
batteries, as mentioned in these operating instructions, cannot be tested with this device.
Operation under the following adverse conditions is not permitted:
Wetness or excessive humidity
Dust and flammable gases, vapours or solvents
Thunderstorms or thunderstorm conditions such as strong electrostatic fields, etc.
Any use other than that described above will damage the battery tester and is also associated with
hazards such as short-circuits, fire, electric shock, etc. The device must not be modified or converted!
The safety instructions must be observed!
Important safety and hazard information
This is not a toy for children. Therefore, keep the battery tester away from children and store it
in a childproof place.
When used in commercial facilities, the accident prevention regulations of the Federation of
Institutions for Statutory Accident Insurance and Prevention for electrical systems and
equipment must be observed.
Never switch on the appliance immediately when it is brought from a cold to a warm room.
Under unfavourable circumstances, the resulting condensation can destroy your appliance.
Allow the unit to come to room temperature when it is switched off.
Avoid strong magnetic fields, such as those found near machines or loudspeakers.
Repairs may only be carried out by authorised specialist personnel. Before opening the unit, it
must be disconnected from all voltage sources.
The meter is only suitable for checking batteries/rechargeable batteries; under no
circumstances should it be used to measure DC voltages above 24 V.
Never measure alternating voltages (>25V) with the unit, there is a danger to life!
It is essential that the range switch is set to the correct range before each measurement,
otherwise the unit may be damaged by overloading.
Before each test, be sure to observe the polarity of the battery to be tested.
The measuring tips must be removed from the object to be measured before each change of
the measuring range.
The unit is not suitable for testing lead-acid or lead-gel batteries.
