6.8 BATTERY
Do not disconnect the battery leads with the
engine running.
REMOVAL
To replace the battery, proceed as follows:
• Rest the vehicle on its centre stand and on level ground.
• Ensure that the ignition key is not inserted into the ignition switch.
• Remove battery cover «1 - Fig. 01» by looseing the two screws
below than release the three upper side tabs.
• Disconnect the leads «2 - Fig. 02» starting from the negative lead
«-» followed by the positive «+».
• Loosen the screw shown and remove the retaining bracket «3 - Fig.
02».
• Remove the battery.
Do not disconnect the battery leads with the engine
running.
Always dispose of old batteries responsibly. For their
disposal, please observe their local regulations.
CHECK
Ensure that the battery leads and terminals are not excessively corro-
ded. If necessary, use a wire brush to clean them.
