What to do if I found water on the floor after overnight shut off of QuietCool QC18DVS Air Conditioner?

If you find water on the floor after an overnight shut off of your QuietCool Air Conditioner, it could be due to excessive water pressure or a float valve stuck in the open position. First, check your water pressure, ensuring it doesn't exceed 60 p.s.i.; if it does, install a water pressure regulator. Also, drain the cooler's sump and refill it to remove any contaminants. If the float remains stuck, remove the pads and inspect the float for debris or damage, then clean or replace the float as needed.

Why is no water running over the pads of my QuietCool QC18DVS Air Conditioner?

      sextoncherylAug 7, 2025
If no water is running over the pads in your QuietCool Air Conditioner, first ensure the main water supply valve is open. It is recommended to keep this valve open at all times. Next, check that the pump switch is turned on. Lastly, the water filter may be clogged. To resolve this, remove the cooling pads, open the back of the unit, access the water filter, pull out the filter screen, and clean it before replacing it.

How to fix water on the floor around QuietCool QC18DVS?
    • C
      Cesar ShawAug 13, 2025
If you notice water on the floor around your QuietCool Air Conditioner, either at the front or back, it could be due to several reasons. It may be caused by damage to the polyethylene housing, indicated by cracks, or by excess water at the top or bottom of the pads. Leaks may also occur from the bottom of the pads. To address this, repair any housing damage. Gently adjust the pads with your fingertips and search for and repair any leaks. If water is leaking from the bottom of the pads, gently push the bottom of the cooling pads inside to stop the leaking.

Why is there scale build-up on the cooling pads of my QuietCool QC18DVS Air Conditioner?
    • E
      Emily TylerAug 18, 2025
Scale build-up on the cooling pads of your QuietCool Air Conditioner is typically due to hard water with excessive mineral content. To mitigate this, use an Evapo-O-Matic Tablet or add a Water Stabilizer at the discharge side of the pump. Additionally, flush the water from the unit’s water reservoir more frequently.

Why does my new QuietCool QC18DVS Air Conditioner smell bad?
    • J
      jessica85Aug 25, 2025
A foul odor from a new QuietCool Air Conditioner is normal and temporary, likely caused by the thermosetting resin in the new pad. The smell will dissipate over time. To expedite this, drain and refill the unit several times during the first week to remove the resin smell. You can also add an Evap-O-Matic Tablet to reduce the odor and prevent algae growth.
