MODEL
III BASIC makes several
assumptions about how
to run
yourprogram
. For
example:
*
Variables are assumed to
be
single-precision (unless
you use type declaration
characters
see Chapter
15,
'
'Variable Types' '
j.
*
A certain
amount
of
memory
is automatically
set aside
for
strings
and arrays
whether
you use all
of
it
or
not.
*
Execution
is sequential, starting
with the
first
statement
in your
program and
ending
with the last.
The statements described
in this chapter let
you override these assumptions,
to
give
yourprograms
much
more
versatility andpower.
NOTE:All BASIC
statements except INPUT
and INPUT#-1 can
be used in
the
Immediate Mode
as well as
in the Execute Mode.
