Filament Run-Out Sensor Installation Steps

Disconnect Power

Turn the printer power switch to 'Off' and unplug the power cable.

Remove Acrylic Back Panel and Side Door

Remove the printer's back panel and attached side door using a Phillips head screwdriver.

Open Electronic Box Cover

Remove four fixing screws with a 2mm hex wrench to open the electronic box cover.

Remove Wires Path Covering

Remove the covering for the wire-path behind the electrical box if present.

Route Sensor Cable

Pass the sensor cable through the wire path and feed it into the electrical compartment.

Connect to Motion Controller Board

Connect the adapter cables to the Y+, Z+, and EXP3 ports on the motion controller board.

Assemble Filament Run-Out Sensor

Connect the white sensor cable to the sensor and remove the tape covering.

Check Sensor Function

Power on the printer and verify the red lights on the sensor are illuminated.

Replace Bowden Tube

Replace original Bowden tubes with the included 4mm-OD tubes if necessary.

Install Filament Run-Out Sensor Unit

Insert guide tubes into the back cover and adjust the sensor height.

Load Filament

Load filament through the Run-Out Sensor and Bowden tube, checking the filament path.

Re-attach Removed Parts

Re-attach the wire-path covering, electronic box cover, and back panel.

Update Motion Board Firmware

Download and install the latest motion board and touchscreen firmware via USB.
