Do you have a question about the rav KPH 370.45K and is the answer not in the manual?

Overview

This document describes the KPH 370.45K and KPH 370.45LIK models of a two-post electro-hydraulic lift, designed for raising vehicles. The manual provides comprehensive instructions for installation, operation, and maintenance, emphasizing safety and proper usage.

Function Description:

The KPH 370.45K and KPH 370.45LIK are two-post electro-hydraulic vehicle lifts equipped with telescopic arms. Their primary function is to elevate vehicles for maintenance, repair, or inspection. The lifting and lowering movements are achieved through two hydraulic cylinders, with the synchronization of the carriages ensured by a steel cable system. This design allows for independent carriage synchronization regardless of load distribution. The lift incorporates a mechanical stop device that automatically engages and disengages via an air-operated system, ensuring maximum safety when the lift is in a parked position. A take-up device is also included for spring elongation of the loaded cable.

Important Technical Specifications:

Both models, KPH 370.45K and KPH 370.45LIK, share the following key specifications:

  • Capacity: 4500 kg
  • Three-phase motor: 230/400 V - 50 Hz - 2.6 kW
  • Single-phase motor: 230 V - 50 Hz - 1.5 kW
  • Weight: 750 kg
  • Noise level: ≤70 dB (A)
  • Overall Width: 3406 mm
  • Inside Column Dimension: 2670 mm (Ø 124 mm)
  • Drive-thru width: KPH 370.45K: 2384 mm; KPH 370.45LIK: 2399 mm
  • Minimum/Maximum Arm Height: 106 mm / 135 mm (for KPH 370.45K) and 100 mm / 140 mm (for KPH 370.45LIK)
  • Carriage Movement: On high-resistance technopolymer sliders with a low friction factor.
  • Safety Features:
    • Padlockable main switch.
    • "Deadman" type operative system: operations stop immediately when the command is released.
    • Device to prevent accidental descent: prevents descent by more than 100 mm in case of hydraulic circuit defect or leak.
    • Magneto-thermal switch to prevent electric overcharges, manually resettable.
    • Overload valve: prevents lifting loads exceeding capacity.
    • Arm anti-rotation device: automatically stops arm rotation as soon as elevation starts.
    • Safety valves for overloads and hydraulic pipe breakage.
    • Valve for controlling descent speed.
  • Load Distribution: The manual includes a table detailing acceptable load distribution on the supporting points, with minimum pickup point distances (track) ranging from 1000 mm to 4500 mm. For distances below this range, the lift capacity is reduced.

Usage Features:

The lift is intended for use in enclosed areas free from explosion or fire hazards and is not suitable for vehicle washing. Operation is restricted to properly trained and authorized personnel who have read and understood the manual.

  • Controls: The lift is operated via a control box with an "up" switch and a "down" lever on the power unit. Safety latches on the column are released manually.
  • Emergency Procedures: In case of power failure or irregular descent, specific emergency procedures are outlined, including applying a hydraulic pump to the power unit and manually releasing mechanical stops.
  • Prohibited Uses:
    • Lifting people or animals.
    • Lifting vehicles with people inside.
    • Lifting vehicles carrying potentially dangerous materials (explosives, corrosives, flammable substances).
    • Lifting vehicles not positioned on the designated pickup points.
    • Lifting vehicles with non-manufacturer-approved accessories.
    • Operation by untrained or unauthorized personnel.
  • Safety Precautions: Operators must ensure the work area is clear of dangerous objects and oil, wear appropriate protective clothing (goggles, gloves, mask), tie back long hair, and wear suitable shoes. It is crucial to verify vehicle stability before and during lifting and to ensure the load distribution is within acceptable limits. The main switch should be turned to "0" when working on a lifted vehicle.

Maintenance Features:

Regular maintenance is essential for the safe and efficient operation of the lift.

  • General Maintenance: The main switch must be locked with a padlock during any maintenance operations. Interventions on electrical parts, even minor ones, must be performed by specialized engineers.
  • Slideways: Lubricate the sliding guides with grease every 3 months.
  • Cables and Pulleys: Periodically check cables for broken or damaged strands and ensure pulleys are in good condition.
  • Oil Level: Check the oil level in the control unit tank when the lift is fully down. Top up with ESSO Huto H32 oil or equivalent if necessary.
  • Safety Catches: Verify that the safety catch operates correctly and that the steel cable is undamaged.
  • Hydraulic Circuit Air Bleeding: Perform several idle strokes (up and down without load) to bleed air from the hydraulic system. Irregular motion, especially during descent, indicates air in the circuit.
  • Dismantling: Any dismantling operations for moving, storing, or scrapping the machine must be performed in the reverse order of installation.
  • Storage: For long-term storage, disconnect power, empty fluid tanks, and protect parts from dust and dryness by greasing them. Replace seals indicated in the spare parts section when restarting the machine.
  • Scrapping: If the machine is to be scrapped, it must be rendered inoperative, dangerous parts made harmless, and materials sorted for disposal according to local regulations.

The manual also includes a detailed illustrated summary for identifying main units and relevant tables for ordering spare parts, along with an installation report and a periodic visit checklist to ensure all maintenance and control operations are duly performed and recorded. The EC declaration of conformity confirms adherence to relevant European directives (2006/42/CE, 2014/30/EU, 2014/35/EU) and harmonized standards (UNI EN ISO 12100:2010, UNI EN 1493:2010, CEI EN 60204-1:2006/AC:2010).
