Growthcancollectonthebottomofthetransducer,
thiscanreduceperformance.Topreventthebuild
upofseagrowth,coatthetransducerwithathin
layerofwaterbasedantifoulingpaint,availablefrom
yourlocalmarinedealer.Reapplypaintevery6
monthsoratthebeginningofeachboatingseason.
Certainsmarttransducershaverestrictionsonwhere
antifoulingpaintisapplied.Pleaseconsultyour
dealer.
Note:Transducerswithatemperaturesensormay
notworkproperlyifpainted.
Note:Neveruseketonebasedpaint.Ketones
canattackmanyplasticspossiblydamagingthe
sensor.
Note:Neverusespraypaintonyourtransducer.
Sprayingincorporatestinyairbubbles,anda
marinetransducercannottransmitproperly
throughair.
Useasoftclothandmildhouseholddetergentto
cleanthetransducer.Ifthefoulingissevere,remove
thegrowthwithagreenscotchbrite
TM
pad.Be
carefultoavoidscratchingthetransducersface.
Ifyourtransducerhasapaddlewheelyoucanwet
sandwithnegradewet/drypaper.
