EMC, servicing and safety guidelines
Raymarin e equipment sh ould be serviced only b y authorized Raymarine ser
vice technici ans. They will ensure that service procedures and replacement
parts used wil l not affect performance . There are no user serviceable parts in
any Raym arine product.
Some products generate high voltages: never handle the cables/connectors
when power is bei ng supplied to the equipment.
When po wered up, al l electrical equipment produces electromagnetic fields .
T hese can cause adjacent piec es of electrical equipment to interact with one
anoth er , with a consequent adverse effect on operation. In order to minimize
these effects and enab le you to get the best p ossible performance from your
Raymarin e equipment, guidelines are given in the installation instructions, to
enable yo u to ensure minimum interaction between different item s of equip
ment, i. e. ensure op timum Electromag netic Compatibility (EMC).
Alw ays report EMCrelated prob lems to your nearest Rayma rine dealer . We
use such in formation to improve our qua lity standards .
In some in stallations , it may not be possible to prevent the equipment from
being affected by external influences. In general this will not damage the
equipm ent but it can lead to spu rious resetting action , or momentarily m ay
result in faul ty operation.
