What to do if my Raypak Electric Heater does nothing when the thermostat is on?
    • L
      Lori MoranAug 12, 2025
If your Raypak Electric Heater isn't working when you turn on the thermostat, it could be due to low flow, a high limit issue, or the thermostat not calling for heat. First, check the filter, skimmer basket, and pump. If you're using a 2-speed pump, switch it to high speed. Then, press and hold the knob for 5 seconds to ensure the flow rate displayed on the screen is at least 15 gpm (57 lpm). Finally, push the reset button and turn the thermostat to a higher temperature.

      Morgan HarrisAug 19, 2025
If your Raypak Electric Heater is causing fuses to blow or the circuit breaker to open, it's likely due to shorted heating elements or undersized wiring. Replace the heating element or replace the field wiring.

Why does my Raypak Electric Heater take so long to heat the spa?
    • D
      Danielle EdwardsAug 27, 2025
Several factors can cause your Raypak Electric Heater to take a long time to heat your spa. These include low input voltage (in which case you should call the electric company), an undersized heater (calculate temperature rise using the formula: Heater input (kw) x 410 divided by spa gallonage, keeping in mind this doesn't account for heat loss), heat loss from poor weather conditions (use a spa cover), or a defective heating element (call an electrician).

Why is the heating element continuously burning out in my Raypak Electric Heater?
    • R
      Richard LopezSep 3, 2025
If the heating element in your Raypak Electric Heater keeps burning out, it could be due to high input voltage (contact the electric company), poor water chemistry (consult "WATER CHEMISTRY" on page 3), or the heating element splitting open (monitor pH and add acid slowly).
