Why does my Raypak E3T Electric Heater take so long to heat the spa?
    • T
      tellisJul 27, 2025
Several factors can cause your Raypak Electric Heater to heat the spa slowly. These include: * **Low input voltage:** In this case, contact your electric company. * **Undersized heater:** Calculate the temperature rise using the formula: Heat rise °/hr.= Heater input (kw) x 410 divided by spa gallonage (Note: This calculation doesn't account for heat loss due to weather). * **Heat loss:** If the weather conditions are poor (cold, high winds), use a spa cover. * **Defective heating element:** If this is the case, call an electrician.

If your Raypak Electric Heater doesn't respond when you turn on the thermostat, it could be due to a few reasons: * **Low flow:** Check the filter, skimmer basket, and pump. * **High limit:** If you're using a 2-speed pump, switch it to high speed. * **Thermostat issue:** Press and hold the knob for 5 seconds. Ensure the flow rate displayed on the screen is at least 15 gpm. Try pushing the reset button and turning the thermostat to a higher temperature.

      Mrs. Brandi RobinsonAug 11, 2025
If your Raypak Electric Heater isn't working when you turn on the thermostat, it could be due to low flow, a high limit issue, or the thermostat not calling for heat. First, check the filter, skimmer basket, and pump. If you're using a 2-speed pump, switch it to high speed. Then, press and hold the knob for 5 seconds to ensure the flow rate displayed on the screen is at least 15 gpm (57 lpm). Finally, push the reset button and turn the thermostat to a higher temperature.

      Tanner RodriguezAug 16, 2025
If your Raypak Electric Heater is causing fuses to blow or the circuit breaker to open, it's likely due to shorted heating elements or undersized wiring. Replace the heating element or replace the field wiring.

    • T
      Terry PaceAug 22, 2025
If the heating element in your Raypak Electric Heater keeps burning out, it could be due to high input voltage (contact the electric company), poor water chemistry (consult "WATER CHEMISTRY" on page 3), or the heating element splitting open (monitor pH and add acid slowly).
