Overview

The Razor E Prime Air is an electric scooter designed for recreational use and transportation. It is intended for riders aged 14 and older, with a maximum weight limit of 200 lb (91 kg). The scooter features a lightweight design and a hub motor for powered assistance.

Function Description:

The E Prime Air operates as an electric scooter, providing powered mobility. To engage the motor, the scooter must be moving at least 3 mph (5 km/h) and the rider must apply the thumb throttle. It is kick-to-start, meaning the rider needs to push off to gain initial speed before the motor engages. The scooter's normal powered top speed is approximately 15 mph (24 km/h), which can vary based on rider weight, inclines, and battery charge level. Stopping is achieved by applying either the electronic brake on the handlebar or stepping on the rear-fender brake, both of which cut power to the motor. The scooter includes an Anti-Rattle folding mechanism for convenient storage and transport.

  • Required Tool for Assembly/Maintenance: 5 mm Allen Wrench (included)

Usage Features:

  • Assembly and Set-Up: The scooter comes partially assembled. Initial setup involves unfolding the scooter, attaching the handlebars, and inflating the front tire. Razor recommends adult assembly.
  • Unfolding: To unfold, pull up the Anti-Rattle knob, turn it counterclockwise to release, raise the T-bar until it locks, then turn the knob clockwise to tighten and engage the Anti-Rattle mechanism.
  • Handlebar Adjustment: The handlebar height can be adjusted using the quick-release lever. The tension of the quick-release lever can be adjusted by tightening or loosening an Allen bolt.
  • Riding: Riders should place both hands on the handlebars, kick to start to at least 3 mph (5 km/h), and then press the thumb throttle to engage the motor.
  • Stopping: The scooter can be stopped by pressing the electronic brake on the handlebar or stepping on the rear-fender brake. Both methods cut power to the motor.
  • Battery Power Level Indicator: Features LED lights (3 blue, 1 yellow, 1 red) to indicate battery charge:

    • Red (0-20%) - Stop riding and charge immediately.
  • Folding: To fold, deactivate the Anti-Rattle feature by turning the knob counterclockwise to loosen, pull up the Anti-Rattle knob, and lower the T-bar.
  • Safety Precautions: Riders must wear proper protective equipment (helmet, elbow pads, kneepads), long-sleeved shirt, long pants, and shoes with tied shoelaces. Avoid riding in wet, icy, bumpy, or rough conditions, near steps, swimming pools, or in traffic. Do not perform stunts or tricks.

Maintenance Features:

  • Tire Inflation: The front tire should be inflated to the correct PSI (indicated on the sidewall) before first use and checked periodically. Overinflation should be avoided.
  • Battery Charging: The battery should be charged immediately after riding and fully charged before storing for extended periods. It should not be charged at or below 32°F (0°C). The charger light turns red during charging and green when complete.
  • Cleaning: Wipe the scooter with a damp cloth to remove dirt and dust. Avoid industrial cleaners, solvents, alcohol-based, or ammonia-based cleaners.
  • Battery Care and Disposal: Do not store the battery in freezing temperatures. The lithium-ion battery pack is recyclable and should be disposed of at an approved recycler. Do not disassemble, crush, puncture, open, or mutilate the battery pack.
  • Charger Inspection: The charger should be regularly examined for damage to the cord, plug, enclosure, and other parts. Use only the recommended charger.
  • Wheel Inspection: Periodically inspect wheels for excess wear and replace hub motor components as needed.
  • General Inspection: Before each ride, check the brake, wheels, tire pressure, frame, fork, handlebars, and all hardware (nuts, bolts, fasteners) for security and correct assembly.
  • Replacement Parts: Genuine Razor replacement parts are available through Razor retail partners or www.razor.com.
  • Warranty: The product comes with a 90-day limited warranty covering manufacturing defects. It does not cover normal wear and tear or damage from improper assembly, maintenance, storage, or misuse. Using non-Razor parts or modifying the product voids the warranty.
