erase head

to see that
it is
parallel
with the
tape.

topedge

tape coincideswith

end of the diagonal
slot in

erasure

adjust
the level
of
the tape,
loosen
set
screw

and
rotate
tape
gurde
post

to
move
the tape
up
or down.
Brake
Shoe
I.
With
all
push
buttons in
the up
position,
brake
pads
(81)
should
clear
brake
drums
(123)
and
(133)
by
approximately l,/ 8
inch.
2.
Depress
the
Stop
button
while observing
the
brake
pads.
Both
brake
pads
must
contact
the
brake drums
at the same
time
and
with equal
pressure.
3.
If necessary,
adjust the
pressure
by bending
brake spring
(80).
Head
Alignment
Use
standard
6- or
12-
alignment
tape for
this
procedure.
Remove
front
and
rear
escutcheons.
Clean
pole
pieces
of
play-record
head,
using
a
good
commercial
head cleaning
agent, naptha
or
lighter
fluid.
Proceed
as
follows:

Thread
alignrnent tape on recorder
and
turn the
volume
on
fuII"
Connect
VTVM to external
speaker
jack.

AC volts,
3-volt
range.
