Safety Lanyard Switch/Attachment Cord
The safety lanyard switch when activated will dis-
able the outboard ignition system causing the en-
gine to stop. To use attach the clip (spade shaped
end) to the lanyard switc
h. This will permit the en-
gine to start. Connect the cord attachment device
located
at the other end around a belt or wrist and
then connect around the lanyard cord.
Note that a belt buckle is not recommended as it
may be a weak connection point.
The operator must keep the lanyard attached when
underway. Should anything happen to the opera
-
tor or there is an emergency on board the lanyard
when pulled off the switc
h will deactivate the igni-
tion system and the vessel will stop quickly.
If the lanyar
d spade is not connected to the
lanyard switch the engine will crank but will not
start.
