3. Now connect your pre-amplier or your mixing console to the nal amplier
If your pre-amplier or your mixing console features symmetrical 6.3mm jack outlets connect the left output with the input jack for channel A
-11- and the right output with the input jack for channel 2 -12-.
NOTE!
This type of connection is ideal for longer cords.
If your pre-amplier or your mixing console features RCA outputs connect the left output with the input jack for channel 1 -13- and the right output
with the input jack for channel 2 -14-.
NOTE!
This type of connection is sufcient for shorter cords.
4. Hook up the connection jack -7- with the mains cable and connect it to your power outlet.
OPERATION
1. Power ON
After all connections have been completed activate the device with the ON/OFF switch -1-. The power supply LED -4- and the protective circuit
LED -5- ash up. After 7 seconds the protective circuit LED should go out. If the LEDs remains lit this indicates an activated protective circuit
(see item 3).
2. Volume control
Control the volume of the left channel with volume control channel A -2- and of the right channel with volume control channel B -3-.
CAUTION!
After switching on the power all volume controls of your nal amplier must be set to a minimum. Before increasing the volume wait 8 to 10
seconds to avoid shot noise caused by the transient effect which could damage the loudspeakers and diplexer.
If the nal amplier has to provide maximum performance during high volumes, there is a risk of clipping. If the overmodulation LEDs -6- of one
or both channels are illuminated reduce the volume of the respective channel as such that the overmodulation LEDs are no longer illuminated.
This prevents clipping your nal amplier and distortion of the output signal.
3. Protective circuits
This nal amplier uses different protective systems to protect the nal amplier, loudspeakers and electronic components. They are:
a) Overload protection
Protects the loudspeaker and the nal amplier against excessive loads, excessive input signals, insufcient resistance at loudspeaker connec-
tion, etc.
b) D.C. input protection
Protects the nal amplier against wrong voltage contacts at the connecting terminals.
c) Power ON protection
Protects the loudspeakers against damaging impulses when switching on the nal amplier.
d) Thermal protection
Protects the transistors of the nal amplier against temperatures exceeding 90 degree Celsius.
As soon as one of the protective circuits is activated during operation the protective circuit LED -5- illuminates. In this case the nal amplier
must be switched off. Check the loudspeaker connections and allow the nal amplier to cool down as it could be overheated. If the LED remains
illuminated following these measures this could indicate a defect which must be remedied by qualied service staff.
NOTE!
The protective circuit LED -5- is illuminated for a few seconds after switching on the nal amplier as the Power ON protection is activated
during this time. Only if the LED does not go out more than 7 seconds does this indicate the activation of another protection system.
4. Ground/Lift switch
If you experience a humming sound when operating the amplier, bring the Ground/Lift switch -10- into „Lift“; this could diminish, if not totally
eliminate the noise.
