# Negative (-) terminal on the 12V battery
$ Positive (+) terminal on the 12V battery
" The 400V circuit, both positive and negative, is isolated from the vehicle's metal
chassis
" The vehicle is equipped with an automatic battery disconnection system in case of
accident. However, it is still vital to carry out the lockout procedure
" If the traction battery cutout switch is not accessible, carry out the following
procedure:
! Disconnect the 12V battery
! Verify the absence of voltage using the correct procedure (see page 24). If the
voltage measured on the battery charging unit is greater than 60 volts (active),
the 400V circuit is not electrically safe.
! Separate and make safe the 400V connector on the 400V traction battery
charger (circled in light blue on picture page 24).
