to
the desired
level.
This control
does not affect the output
to the amplifier.
Reproduction
of a
dolbyized recording
-
ln add ition to the normal
preparations
for reproduction, set the

CASSETTE
DECK FUNCTIONS
Fast rewind
-
When key
>
[4]
is depressed, the tape
is wound forward
in
the
play
direction. No start or stop
position
will
be accepted
in
this
mode
(see
section
"Programming
the Cassette
Deck").
-
The
tape can be
rewound
by depressrng
key
<
[3]
Note
Their is no need to manually stop the tape. The cassette
deck au-
tomatically stops as soon
as the transparent
tape
leader
is
de-
tected. lf the transparent
leader is
sensed during a
rewind opera-
tion, the machine automaticallyadvances to the beginning of the
tape before entering the stop
mode.
The function keys can be
depressed
in
any sequence.
There is no need
to depress
the
STOP
key
[6]
before selecting a
new
function.
Tape counter
[11]
The values
displayed
can be reproduced
at any time.
provided
the cassette is started from the beginning and
the
counter
is
re-
set to
zero
(ZERO
key
[10]).
For
cassettes with a transparent
lea-
der the machine automatically searches the beginning of the
tape and resets the counter to zero
(the
beginning
of the tape
is
automatically searched also after a fast rewind).
The counter readlng remains displayed
even
after the
machine
is
switched off.
Searching
for
a specific recording

until the tape
has advanced roughly to
the
desired
tape
section. Depress PLAY
key

and
check
posi-
tion.

If
the
tape has
been advanced too far

t3l
-
Check
position
by
switching
to PLAY mode.
-
Repeat above
procedure
until the desired
tape
section
has
been
found.
Note
This tedious search
procedure
can
be considerably simplified
with little effort
by
noting
the beginning
position
of each segment
either
when
the recording is made
or when it is
played
back
for
the first time With
this
information
it
becomes
possible
to start
the search
at
the beginning
of the cassette and to
stop
it at the
desired location. These
positions
are
also useful
for
automatic
repetition.
