Standard use conditions
The CWA/E-CWA/ES-CWA/EX-CWA/ESX
units are packaged water chillers, air
cooled with axial fans.
The CWR/E-CWR/ES units are packaged
reversible heat pumps, air
evaporation/condensation with axial fans.
They are intended for use in industrial
processing or conditioning plants where a
supply of refrigerated water (CWA/E-CWA/ES-
CWA/EX-CWA/ESX) or refrigerated and heated
water (CWR/E-CWR/ES) is required.
The machine is designed for outdoor
installation.
Features
●● Aluminium frame structure and aluminium
sheet panels inside lined with sound insulating
material for the 29 - 57 models; steel bed for
the 70 - 153 models.
●● Hermetic rotary compressors, Scroll type,
complete with thermal protection.
●● Capacity step control according to the
following table:
●● Stainless steel plate exchanger evaporator or
condenser/evaporator complete with
antifreezing electrical heater and insulated with
close cellular expanded synthetic rubber.
●● Differential pressure switch to protect the unit
as the water flow stops.
●● Hydraulic threaded male connections.
●● Air cooled condenser or
evaporator/condenser coil with copper tubes
expanded into aluminium finns.
●● Axial fan with external rotor equipped with
internal thermal protection and complete with
protection grille.
●● Refrigerant circuit with mild copper tubes
and silver alloy welding. Complete with filter
drier (n. 2 for CWR), charge connections, H.P.
switch with manual reset, L.P. switch with
automatic reset, liquid and moisture sight-glass
(n. 2 for CWR), thermostatic expansion valve
(n. 2 for CWR), pressure switch of
accomplished defrosting (for CWR), cycle
inverter valve (for CWR), non-return valves (for
CWR), liquid receiver (for CWR).
●● Unit complete with:
• R 22 refrigerant charge for versions CWA/E-
CWA/ES-CWR/E-CWR/ES;
• R 407c refrigerant charge for versions
CWA/EX-CWA/ESX.
Electrical board
●● Electrical board (IP 55) accessible from the
front panel, according to the international IED
standards, built into waterproof box lockable
with special key. Complete with:
• electrical wiring arranged for power supply
400V-3ph-50Hz+N;
• auxiliary power supply: 230V-1ph-50Hz+N;
• control power supply: 24V-1ph-50Hz;
• power contactors;
• door interlocking isolator;
• magnetothermic switches for each
compressor and fan;
• magnetothermic switch on auxiliary power
circuit;
• removable unit control.
●● Programmable microprocessor electronic
board regulated with the keyboard built into the
units.
This electronic board controls the following
functions:
• control and management of inlet/outlet water
temperature set points, of the safety delays,
of the hour-run-meter of each compressor, of
the automatic inversion of the compressor
operation sequence, of the defrosting cycles
(for CWR/E-CWR/ES), of the circulation or user
system pump, of the antifreezing electronic
(protection automatically switched on when the
unit is turned off), of all the functions that
control the working interventions of the unit
devices;
• complete protection of the unit, possible cut
off of the machine and display of the active
alerts;
• visualisation: of set values, of inlet/outlet
water temperatures and of alerts, by display;
of working devices, of cooling/heat mode and
of defrosting operation by led (for CWR/E-
CWR/ES);
• self-diagnosis with diagnostic program of the
unit working conditions.
●● Advanced functions:
• pre-arranged for RS 485 serial interface line
for interconnection with distributed intelligent
systems for integrated building automation.
• testing of the units assisted by computer.
●● Possibility of remote control.
TANK & PUMP version
●● ASP - Built-in pumping group equipped with
inertial water tank, circulation pump with
electronic management, expansion tank,
system gauge, safety valve, water discharge.
PUMP version
The unit can be equipped with maximum
3 pumps, which can be selected among the
following options:

P - Built-in primary circuit pump with
electronic management.
●● P/DP - Built-in primary circuit pump with
manual operation stand-by pump.
●●
PU - User system pump, available together
with P or P/DP pumps.
●●
PU/DP - User system pump with manual
operation stand-by pump, available only
together with the P pump.
Accessories factory fitted
●● FI10 - Low ambient device for ambient
temperatures down to –10°C; this device
operates through a continuous electronic
control of the fan rotation speed.
●● DS15 - 15% recovery with super-heat
recuperator (R 22 only, models 29-57 TANK &
PUMP version).
●● RC50 - 50% recovery with condensation
heat recuperator (R 22 only, models 29-57
TANK & PUMP version).
●● RC100 - 100% recovery with condensation
heat recuperator (R 22 only, models 29-57
TANK & PUMP version).
●● TRD - Thermostat with display to visualise
the water temperature at the heat recovery/
desuperheater outlet and to control the
eventual water flow control device.
Accessories supplied loose
●● KRP - Protection grilles.
●● KSA - Rubber antivibration mountings.
●● KTCF - Hydraulic pipes to connect the unit
with the pumping group, complete with
mechanical water filter with stainless steel filter
cartridge.
●● KFA - Mechanical water filter with stainless
steel filter cartridge.
●● KGM - High and low pressure gauges for
each circuit complete with capillary.
●● KTR - Remote keyboard and display with
the same functions as the one built into the
unit.
●● KIS - RS 485 serial interface for
interconnection with distributed intelligent
systems for integrated building automation.
●● KCH - RS232 hardware key to be
connected to supervision systems, to combine
with one or more KIS serial interface modules in
central system.
