CIS Structure - 1
 The CIS unit has 5 contact image sensors linked in a
staggered configuration, below the original feed path.
 Two safety switches cut off the power to the CIS unit when
the scanner cover is lifted. This prevents the CIS unit from
lighting up accidentally when the cover is open.
