 Inspect the horizontal encoder strip for dirt or damage. Clean or
replace.
 Inspect the vertical encoder wheel for dirt or damage. Clean or
replace.
 Inspect the platen for shreds of paper or other obstacles.
 Inspect the platen plates for dirt or damage. Clean or replace.
 Faulty Carriage: Replace the carriage unit.
