4.2 Ports / Pinouts
This chapter shows all ports / pinouts of all MediorNet devices.
General connectors that exist on multiple devices are listed in this chapter.
Connectors of specific cards or devices are listed in the respective sub-chapters.
ETHERNET & CONFIG/MGMT port
· The ETHERNET port connector is used to tunnel electrical Ethernet over the MediorNet network.
· The CONFIG / Management port is used to configure the system. To configure the frames it is sufficient to
connect a PC to one frame. All other frames are configured over the fiber-network.
· For a direct connection to a PC or to a network switch, use any standard (straight-through) network patch
cable.
· These ports are 1000Base-T compatible.

MADI port
The MADI ports are used to interface the MediorNet frame to an Artist-mainframe or external MADI
equipment. Each MADI port supports up to 64 bidirectional audio channels. The optical MADI port supports
single-mode and multi-mode SFP transceivers.
The original SFPs available from Riedel are highly recommended for use with the MADI Port as they provide
the proper optical budget for other MADI devices.
