This monochromator is used to monochromatize the diffracted beam received in

OD measurement to Ka X-rays. By rotating the dial on the top of the
monochromator housing, the angle
of the monochromating graphite crystal
position can be changed between Bent (para-focusing geometry) and Flat
(para
ll el beam geometry).
