Operator Interface Chapter 3
There are two types of triggers possible. A Single trigger occurs once and stops.
The trigger must then be manually re-armed. This is the default type of trigger. A
Continuous trigger will re-arm itself and continue to collect new trends until
viewing the contents of the captured data stops it. The current type of trigger is
shown by either a 'C' or 'S' in front of the Trigger label (refer to Figure 152
). To
switch between the two types, press the [F9] key.
The trigger condition and trigger value are set with the [F2] and [F3] keys
respectively. When the respective field is in reverse video, that field may be
modified.
The condition is set to one of the conditions listed below by pressing the [cursor
up] or [cursor down] keys to scroll through the conditions. Pressing [enter] ends
the editing and accepts the shown condition.
The value (data) is set through the use of the numerical keypad. Use the data
entry keys [0]-[9] to enter the new value. The [-] key can be typed at any time to
enter a negative value. The [.] key is used to enter a decimal point for fractional
values. The entered new value can be edited by pressing the [backspace] key. This
key will delete the right most character (i.e. number, decimal point or negative
sign) shown on the screen. Press the [enter] key to accept the new value as shown
in Figure 153
. If the new value that you entered is outside the limits defined, the
new value will be pegged at the closest limit. For example: If you entered 900
when the minimum value was 1000, the new value will show 1000.
Some data must be entered in HEX. To accomplish this, use the cursor up/down
keys to scroll through the values 0-F for the right most digit. To accept the digit
and enter to the right of the current digit, press the right cursor key. Press the
[Enter] key to accept the value.
The value may be edited the same as a value entered from the numeric keypad.
