If the disc is finalized, you’ll need to remove finalization before recording. * If recording to CD, make sure you haven't exceeded the maximum recordable time or number of tracks (99 for CD-R, 98 for CD-RW). Delete unwanted tracks if necessary. * Remember a CD-RW disc can only be recorded and erased approximately one thousand times. * Note that you can’t record for less than four seconds.

  If normal playback isn't working on your Roland Recording Equipment, consider these points: * Ensure the CD is inserted with the label facing upward. * Make sure the inserted CD has recorded content on it. * Deactivate Repeat playback by pressing [1/ALL] until the Repeat icon disappears. * Deactivate A-B Repeat playback by pressing [A-B] until its icon disappears, or press the CD [Stop ( )] button. * Set the Speed, Pitch, and Key settings to “0” to remove their respective icons. * Turn “Off” Center Cancel by pressing [CENTER CANCEL] until its icon disappears. * Try a different CD in case the current one is damaged. * If the CD [Play ( )] button is blinking, press it to resume playback from pause.
