PITCH BENDER/
MODULATION LEVER
By moving the Pitch Bender/Modula-
tion lever [18], bending of the tones can
be obtained. Moving the lever to the
right raises the pitch and moving the
lever to the left lowers the pitch of the
note. If the lever is released (central po-
sition), the note returns to normal
pitch. This lever can be used to give a
guitar bending effect or the sliding of
the trombone and is used often in
modern synthesizer playing.
The Pitch Bender (when the lever is
moved left or right) can be adjusted by
‘*4” or ‘‘—’’ 2 semitones for the sec-
tions UPPER and MANUAL DRUMS.
The Pitch Bender always affects the
UPPER Section unless in the Manual
Drums ON condition. In the latter case
it only affects the MANUAL DRUMS.
Pushing the same lever away from you
will add modulation (vibrato/tremolo) to
each tone. Releasing the lever will can-
cel the modulation effect.

Mit dem Bender/Modulationshebel [18]
kann die Tonhéhe der oberen Klangfar-
be gebeugt (d.h. verandert) werden.
Wenn der Hebel nach rechts gedriickt
wird, nimmt die Tonhéhe zu, und beim
Dricken nach links nimmt die Tonhé-
he ab. Beim Loslassen kehrt der Hebel
zur Mittelstellung zuriick, und es wird
wieder die normale Tonhéhe erhalten.
Mit dem Hebel kann der «Gleiteffekt»
von Gitarre und Zugposaune imitiert
werden, weshalb er bei modernem
Synthesizerspiel oft eingesetzt wird.
Zusatzlich kann noch der Benderbe-
reich (d.h. maximale Tonhéhenande-
rung beim Bewegen des Hebels bis zum
Anschlag nach links bzw. rechts) einge-
stellt werden. Die Anderung ist von
“+” oder ““—” 2 Halbténen im Bereich
UPPER und MANUAL DRUMS. Der
Bender wirkt immer auf die UPPER-
Klangfarbe, wenn MANUAL DRUMS
nicht eingeschaltet ist.
Durch Vordriicken des Hebels erhalt
man Modulationseffekte (Vibrato-
Tremolo) fiir die obere Klangfarbe.
Beim Loslassen des Hebels wird der Ef-
fekt aufgehoben.

En déplacant le levier de PITCH
BEND/MODULATION [18], un effet
de variation de hauteur (pitch bend) se-
ra obtenu, quel que soit le son.
Déplacer le levier vers la droite fait
monter la note et le déplacer vers la
gauche fait baisser la note. Si le levier
est relaché (position centrale), la note
retrouve sa hauteur normale. Le levier
peut étre utilisé pour faire un effet de
corde tirée, comme sur une guitare, ou
un “‘glissando” de trombone, et est sou-
vent utilisé dans le jeu moderne de
synthétiseur.
La plage de variation de hauteur (quand
le levier est incliné 4 droite ou & gau-
che) peut étre réglée de “+” ou “—”
2 demi-tons pour les section UPPER et
MANUAL DRUMS. Le Pitch Bend
contréle toujours la section UPPER si
les MANUAL DRUMS ne sont pas sé-
lectionnés. Dans ces dernier cas il con-
tréle les MANUAL DRUMS.
En poussant loin de vous ce méme le-
vier, vous ajouterez une modulation (vi-
brato/tremolo) & chaque son utilisé.
Relachez le levier pour annuler |’effet
de modulation.
