Play List: This display shows you the location and movement of audio data as it relates to its position
on the time line. The data moves from right to left across the line in the middle of the display, which
represents a tape head. This display is useful for knowing which Tracks have audio data on them and
where the audio starts on a given Track in relation to the others. The Tracks are numerated vertically
starting with Ò1Ó at the top and ending with Ò8Ó on the bottom.

As we mentioned before, the SHIFT button is used to activate a button which has a dual function. These
buttons have a function name which is surrounded with a white border. Examples of these buttons include
SOLO (EDIT), SELECT (MIXER MODE), STORE (ZERO) and the CH EDIT buttons. If you press any of these
buttons while holding SHIFT, the secondary function of that button will be activated.

PARAMETER
The PARAMETER and CURSOR buttons are used in conjunction with one another to select editing
parameters and to move between different components of those parameters. For example, to modify the
EQ Mid on a given Track, use the PARAMETER buttons to move between the level and frequency screens.
On the frequency screen there are two values that you can change (Freq. and Q) and you would use the
cursor buttons to move between the two values. To change the values themselves, use the TIME/VALUE
dial. Sometimes, the VS-880 will prompt you with a ÒYESÓ or ÒNOÓ question. The CURSOR buttons also
serve as YES/NO buttons. In addition, there are times in which you will need to ENTER a value to confirm
or CANCEL an operation. The CURSOR buttons serve as ENTER/CANCEL buttons as well.
